Analysis of Objective

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

The image of power.
To take it or given.
Symbolizing to idolize,
The face of it to worship.
Excluding a diversity.
That represents a greatness obtained.
Continues to be...
A foot shooting process.
Becoming more a racial contest.

The activity taken,
To suppress those eligible to vote.
Discriminating against the ones,
Enduring jokes upon them provoked.
Has its entertaining limitations.
When behind the scenes,
Their participation...
Would not have made,
A great democracy...
Achieved to believe.
Or see...
The reality of it.

But blinded are the bats.
Rushing back...
To their gilded caves to dwell.
When the brightest of light,
Exposes their eyes...
To a reality refused.
This blinded minds can not accept.

Gone not to dawn.
Or realized the effect.
As to what supplies,
Their food to eat.
Where they go...
To have their needs met to meet.
Or who will decide and choose,
Being taken for granted...
Has for them not a benefit at all.
With a stopping not to do this,
Over and over again anymore.

Leaving the cost,
Of a power to have...
Thoughtlessly usurped.
A worthless mission to explore.
And detrimental,
To their fading decaying...
Mental health observed.

Although...
Who knows?
This may be their objective.
To prove they would rather,
Dwell in caves.
Feeling safe and protected.
Fantasized and defended.
From whatever threats created.
Than to face a reality...
Clearly to see it.
As Sun rises to fear it set.
Yet...
Free to fiction and delude a truth.
Too bright for their darkened minds!
Preferring to remain unconscious,
To the times as they have become.
