Made Crazed

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Have we all been made crazed.
And refuse to admit it?
With accepting this craze,
To witness it observed...
As a passing fad to have us laugh?

No one today,
Seems to be laughing at this.
Or find it to stay,
Living in denial.
When humanity and its existence.
Has many to believe,
A debating to pass yet new laws.
Will eliminate this crazed madness.
To go away.
And leave permanently.
As quick as racial and replacement theories.
Done to preserve a quality of life.
Only those living in exclusive isolation,
Assume to perceive...
Themselves immuned morning, noon.
Through a peaceful night.
From this threatening mental disease.

Have we all been made crazed?
Dazed and unfazed,
By greed, prestige and status to create.
Done to separate our minds,
From reality to delude...
Fiction more to prioritize this craved.
As an appetite to appreciate.
Then save what's over.
Never again to remember,
What it was like being sober.

To then do what?
After we have awakened.
With a consciousness.
Wanting then to use common sense?
Gone to regret it missed.

And nowhere else,
Can the use of it be anywhere found.
Begging to be approved and accepted.
Or recognized for what it was to value.
By those who choose to kick it around.
Since common sense,
Once to have and use.
Had enough of ignorance,
Abusing its existence!

'I know we have been conditioned,
To accept and adapt to some crazy stuff.
But...
Those folks over there,
On their hands and knees whistling?
For what and why are they doing it?'

'Well...
I have been told,
And I'm not one to spread rumors.
But...
They are the ones,
Alleged to have kicked common sense...
To the curb.
And now they are hoping,
If they are seen on their hands and knees...
Whistling?
Common sense they once had,
Will come back.
And all would be forgiven immediately.'

'I don't want to laugh.'

'Whether you do or not,
What difference would a sad situation...
We are all in these days,
Really make?
Besides,
Adding them to the crazed list.
If room on that list,
Accommodates their wishes.

And remember this...
Few of us,
Can prove unconditionally...
That we are the ones among the sane!'

'Now...
That's funny.'

'I wouldn't laugh so loud if I were you.
One never knows,
Who it is to believe they have the right...
To feel offended!
Trapped in a maze with no exit to end it.
And...
Get up off the ground rolling around.
As if your are searching for clues,
To help them find what they lost.
Nothing that sad is a laughing matter.
I'm serious.'

'Stop. Stop it!
I know you are.
I can't take any more.
My stomach hurts!'
