Analysis of Mask
As I gaze upon my reflection,
I don't want to see the truth.
I have conformed into thinking,
That I need to change what I see.
Every day is a clean slate,
But I can't just keep it clean.
I always feel so numb,
Numb where I have to wear a mask.
A foundation that covers my flaws,
A liner that enhances my perfections,
A stick that can make the irrelevant things shine,
Every day is a clean slate,
But I can't just keep it clean.
I wear a mask on my face,
Because I feel I have to.
I wear a mask on my face,
Because I feel that's the way to be noticed.
I wear a mask on my face,
Because that's the only time I receive compliments.
I wear a mask on my face,
Because a clean slate isn't good enough.
