Analysis of Mollusk of Old Days
Opening up parts of my past, I sadly see,
there have been low days in September,
that I would rather not remember,
because they’ve revealed a lie to me.
But if I’d wiped those from my memory,
I would have lost their lovely fruits as well,
so I’ve compressed the prangs of history,
and tucked those away in a solid shell.
These days, when that time of year arrives,
I just reflect on the flows of our lives,
on how, in our own ways, we forbear
the losses that are simply lying there.
