Analysis of The Simple Truth

Your love is the richest mousse
Melting in my mouth,
But, darling, if I leave you,
I'll know the simple truth:
That I will live to shine
Over sweeter faces, when I'm fine
And alive at ninety-nine!

Your love is fresh, hot cherry pie-
Lighting up my young eyes,
But if I leave you with a silent sigh (or maybe two):
I know that I will die neither alone nor soon.

For chocolate mousse nor cherry pie will ever lie
In the belly of a wise old woman that's alive at ninety-nine,
But lumpy old oatmeal love I know will do just fine!
