A Simple Pleasure

I feel blood running
Through these fingers
And beyond. Confidence flooding
Through the walls, running into the wind,
Over the streets,
Between the evergreen needles
Of the trees.
In this room, with this melody,
I am free!
My soul enters the circle
That my toes make around me,
As I spin
Through it all,
These fingers flick
Like fire, with each twist
Of my wrist.
This music’s
Warm light
Outshines
The sun, yet feels softer
Than the dim blaze
Of cool rays
From the moon.
As my eyesight blurs,
It stirs
Dim lines
Into rainbow light-
And this heart flutters
In pure delight.
