Analysis of Slip-slip Away

Each and everyday
You slip further and further away
And I don't notice it until it stings
And loud in my ears it rings
That no matter what I do
I can't hold unto you
Because you keep slip-slipping away

My heart no longer beats faster when you're near
Nor does my voice call you my dear
Nor my soul feel your warmth of touch
No longer will you be my crutch
Because you keep slip-slipping away

Tears shall no longer fall for you
And I'll carry on life as I always do
When I know that you've slipped-slipped away

Jillian Veitenheimer

My writing is a way for things to flow out of me that I didn't even know was within me. By sharing it with all the other poets out there I can rebuild my strength in myself. I can free my soul and let it soar in the stars. Let the wind rip me free of the being that carries my emotions. Poetry is my heart beat. more…
