Analysis of New Leaves

Life's a struggle for man and tree,
I sit watching this's what I see,
That spring growth with leaves of green,
Young and tender the freshest I've seen.

The sun's out but the wind is cold,
Twisting and turning leaves grip and hold,
Withstanding strong gales they remain fast,
Tenaciously they cling because they must last.

Amazing their endurance for something so small,
Obviously through sap they will not fall,
Only half developed but tested real true,
Yes they'll survive - the same as you!
About this poem;-
After winter and leaf fall I noted that when
spring arrived these new buds appeared and
leaves started to form. Incredible how they were

buffeted about but still hang on, hence the poem

stan brierly

I have been writing poems for forty years and written about all sorts of things. Somehow I get creating streaks and can write up to 4 or 5 poems at once of varying subjects. I find it is a good way to record events of the day and bring history to life. The mental aspect is a balance against keeping fit, work and life in general. more…
