Bonding

There's a bond between tree and sky,
A private tranquillity when warm and dry,
Perfected by green and the blue above,
Clouds add lustre to these times I love.
On the deck there in the sun,
I can relax being the only one,
No chatter or noise to disturb the mind,
Brilliant the solitude a chance to unwind
Lost in thought the day is right,
See the contrasts of dark and light,
Shadows and reflections I know then all,
Waving the branches of trees mighty tall.
The balmy breeze refreshing it be,
Sweeping over land coming from the sea,
Temperatures are nice it's perfect and fine,
Even the sun with it's muted sunshine.
I't's an opportunity to stop and sit,
Read a book and to write a bit,
Quiet murmuring of traffic in the street,
Soon there'll be childrens pounding feet.

I find it is a good way to record events of the day and bring history to life. The mental aspect is a balance against keeping fit, work and life in general. more…
