Analysis of Habeas Corpus

I tried to fight the law
But the law had the upper hand
Cut my legs out from under me
And left me with no place to land
Plight for the pie
Left me reaching for the sky
Wasn't mine for the taking
But I still had a taste for the lie

To be a stick up kid
Whatever I wanted, I could have it

Unaware of what came with it
All Judge, no jury
And an all day sentence
That was handed down in a hurry

Like Snow on the Bluff
My criminal life's a running record
Stealin' and dealin' with every minute
Through an open lens confessional
I was holdin' a smokin' gun
And now my freedom's on hiatus
There's nowhere for me to run
Within a thirty mile radius

Habeas Corpus -
Borne identity of a carcass
Carcinogenic since the beginning
Deliberate impenitence
With a haughtiness
Written down statements
In the prosecution's accusation
As soon as I heard the charges
My heart started breakin'

My mind started to wake up
All of a sudden, I'm prayin' to God:
"Our Father who is in heaven
With whom I'm currently at odds
Have mercy on me today
Please, don't send me away
I'm a lowly, wretched sinner
And You're the only one
Who can save me..."
