Matter

The only thing that matters
Are only the things that matter
To the One who controls matter
And the matters of men never flap Him...

We can't even fathom
A rhyme or reason that'd manage
To induce the slightest panic
In the creator who made the planets

Spoke the universe out of nothing
Made wine from water buckets
Turned the Titanic into granite
And a den of lions into muppets

Trust it —
No matter how many you body
Or how deep you try to mob
Your arms will never be long enough
For you to try to box with God

Just sod and sandcastles
Tryin' to impress the brambles
And everybody's a tough talker
Until you get more than you can handle

So gird up and get scrambled
You can try at your own peril
(Hitler declared a thousand years
And after twelve, the Reich was leveled)

A flash in the pan —
Our best laid plans
Are just dust in the wind
But He holds the whole world in His hands

Steady is our pace
To the Watchmaker of the ages
And until He stops it, I'm always clockin'
'Cause time is too precious to be wasted
