Analysis of Breaking

Break through the darkness
and fall through the light.
Will I come to a stop,
or fall back into night?

An escape route from here
is what I'm trying to find.
Can it be this difficult,
or is all of this in my mind?

I need to find my way out
before I'm stuck here foever.
I couldn't let that happen,
not during this endeavor.
