That one time my hair caught on fire.

It's difficult looking around now that the smoke has cleared, I breathe in till my lungs feel like they could pop, the smoke makes my throat burn but it reminds me of you so I hold my breath longer.

I remember putting my gard down I heard the alarms sounding but you leaned in closer to hear where it burns and you learned where it cuts a little deep.. and you waited a while.. and you wiped the sweat off my face and told me "here, drink this" and you layed me down proceeded to tie both hands down and place silver tape saying "sleep now, I'll handle this, no one loves you like I do"

Smoke! Fire! My eyes became hazy.. is it a little too hot in here? Wait.. was there something in that water? I can barely keep my eyes open..
But there you are leaning in so close juat to whisper, as you wipe the sweat off my brows "I got this boo , they don't understand you like I do"

So I lay back down
No one takes care of me
No one takes care of me Like you do

Wait, my limbs feel heavy
I think I might panic
I know the neighbors are Watching
Laughing and taking
I gotta breathe in, smile
Can't show this home is hell
Who am I scared of?
Funny you should ask.

I'm scared every door I try to open
Will start to open just to get slammed shut
There's no one coming
My lungs feel heavy
I think I said that?
I forget

But I remember little feet running
I hear the yelling
I feel the panic burn the sides of my body
I am less now.

I had to drive him to her to give him hope

Back alone in hell
Days have passed
Or is it months?
Oh irs been so many years..

Fire! Smoke is rising my chest is rising
The sweat in my sheets are set in now they will stain..

Heavy hands on my throat
You wipe the sweat from my brow like you love me
You whisper
"No one loves you like me"
Youre grip is getting tighter
I hear you being dragged away
But you left something inaide me
I see it written on the walls,
I point so maybe they'll see
They don't.
That's okay.
I like the alone
The comfort of the smoke.

No, wait. I miss little hands on my heart
Carefree steps walking back from a playground
With a custom made tie dye shirt on
I miss when he'd trip because he knew I was holding his hand
I'd ask him what color
He'd always say red
Magical kisses that would take the
Pain out of any knee scrape

Often lately I wonder if he evet avoids the sidewalk?

I'm a little out of reach lately
But I'm clearing the debri
And when he comes back to me I hope
It's with eyes looking forward
Big leaps
Jumps in my arms
Just to remind me
"It's OK, just breathe"
