Analysis of Being With You
My first encounter left me without enough time
To breathe you in.
I was sent tumbling down mountains of torment,
And was flooded with emotions in a torrential
Storm that threatened to efface me
From whom I was familiar with---a shell of myself.
A tidal rush of emotion poured through my body,
And sent an electrical shock to my fragile heart.
Faster and faster it would beat
Until I was sure it would shatter violently.
With just one smile you engorged me
With new life, new hope, a new purpose.
I envision a time when you
Can rest your head on my shoulder
While we watch the sun go down in the distance.
Swathes of purple, red, and orange paint the sky.
And out of the corner of my eye
I see you smiling. I am happy.
