Analysis of Angel of Mercy
With your sword
of white light
sparking in the dim,
you stand over me,
my head bowed towards
my kneeling body
as I await
the death that must come.
The weapon comes close,
almost knighting
my shameful, sinful head,
coming an inch
from my streaming tears,
falling and breaking along my jaw,
hiding in the hallows
of my collarbone.
The air separates
above my head,
and I know
my death is now,
but no pain comes,
He has only cut
the darkness around me
so that finally
I see the world of light.
