Analysis of Maybe I Missed Mine

Maybe it was you,
And that night we kissed between the twisted stars, it was real,
Too blind to see through the walls you hid behind,
And now all I'll ever be is a tiny ripple,
A fraction of a flowing river destined for greatness,

I see the broken sky shining through the trees,
Fragile leaves fall softly to the ground, I miss the sound,
The sound of a leaf crumbling in your hands,
Watching months of life turn into dust by my will,
Fitting really.

Patience is what I need,
To wait for a message, a call, a letter, a smile, a kiss, anything that would bring me closer to you,
A tiny ripple, faded long before I reach your shore,
My body never to dock again,
Fitting really.

A curse on this earth I have plagued for years,
Nothing but sorrow and sadness follows in my path,
It's better, I guess, that you no longer look for me,
In the eyes of strangers,
Eyes like your soul, never ageing, forever beautiful,

Someone once told me we have only one soul mate,
A person that can bring strength you never even knew existed,
Make your skin alive with fire, yet a touch so soft and calm,
They say we have only one true love in our life,
I say,
I definitely missed mine.
