Analysis of In A Heartbeat

In A Heartbeat
By Nancy Rodriquez

If you said the word, we would get together,
Naysayers be damned,
I am in this forever,
You should know this is who I am,
In a heartbeat, I would move mountains,
and swim the deepest ocean,
to be where you are, like a fountain,
with never-ending devotion,
Though you are toxic to my life,
You are the poison I choose,
I long to be your wife,
without you, I lose,
and my heart fails within me,
It takes every ounce of strength to hang on,
Being by your side is the place I want to be.
