If
IF
By Nancy Rodriquez
If one day you are cleaned up and renewed,
and survive the illness you are going through,
If you still have me in your heart and mind,
this one thing you can rely upon, and a treasure you will find,
my love will be waiting for your embrace,
as I long to see a smile on your face,
knowing it is meant for me,
what a wonderful day it would be,
If you decide we are worthy of another try,
I promise to never tell another lie,
to win your heart would be heaven in my eyes,
and to know prayers work more than we realize,
If I could win your trust and love again,
I would never take you for granted and cause pain,
and I would in return expect the same,
once we are healed, a new beginning for us to move forward to
a new day.
