Analysis of Be Thankful
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Make a joyful noise to the Lord,
Throughout all the lands of the earth;
Show that He is loved and adored,
His creation of priceless worth.
Serve the Lord in giving gladness,
Come into His presence with song;
Chase away the gloomy sadness,
Show to Him that you do no wrong.
Know that the Lord He is your God,
We are like sheep in His pasture;
As we graze in this life we laud,
To be with Him in the future.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving,
In His courts in praising His name;
Giving thanks for our living,
As His Spirit lights our flame.
For the Lord is faithful and good,
And His love endures forever;
Steadfastness of mercy that stood,
Of His truth that will not sever.
