Analysis of Reflections 2267
Reflections 2267
by Sommer Rains
"When I sit back and watch the television....
All I want is for someone to hold me....
make me feel safe, make me feel secure
Let me know that our Love will endure
The changing tides
and changing seasons
You're my whole heart....
You are my reason
I promise, I promise
with my whole heart I promise
I promise
I promise
I promise
I will never give up on you
I'd rather be non-existent
I'd rather be shot from a distance
Than to give up on you
When we sit back and watch the television ....
All I want to do, is to hold you.....
even though I am unsure
who you are texting.
I want you to feel safe and secure
you yell and show me the front door
but you must know that I promise
our love will endure....
The tides are changing
The season too
I am not a part
of your heart
I am not
your reason
You do not promise
You give up on me
But I will never give up on you
I give up on me too"

About this poem
I am a Sylvia Plath fan, her confessional Style of poetry I can relate to. This an account of love relationships I have been in both of us being unhealthy. They did not love me but I would promise to love them forever no matter what, even to the point of losing myself. This is a confessional poem about how that felt to me
