Analysis of Broken Promises

Why do you do that?
You keep building me up with your kind words just to throw me back to the ground.

I believed you again.
Like I always do.
"I promise this will be the last time."
"I promise I didn't talk to her."
"I promise this was the last time."
"I promise I'll change."
"I promise I love you."
Each one made with your fingers crossed behind your back.
Now with every promise a faint smile appears on my face then disappears like my trust in you.
