Analysis of Frog's Leap
barefooted trodden upon the oozy
earth is suctioning my thoughts
distancing me from all concerns
that won’t be due today
around the sedate lake I discern
leaps of plucky little creatures
that just freed themselves as usual
from a clot of swarming eggs
spreading out in tiny jumps
there’s a thousand times tomorrow
ravished I salute these gutsy nippers
with my jubilating toe
