Analysis of IN THE HEAT OF KABUL

In the desolate heat of Kabul,
There descends a hellish ordeal
Of refugees’ uncertain route to freedom
Unleashed by the fire of the dragon.

Dire breakdown of law and order
In the bleak country of Afghanistan
Evacuation of a few is in the final hours,
Left  behind are the thousand sacrifices
To the altar of the firebrand Talibans
In the feverish ravaged cauldron of the Scorched arid land of Afghanistan.

In the searing heat of Kabul bolthole
Frantic scrambling for access to the flights
To escape conflicts from hell,
Children torn away from their parents
Left behind to the mercy of the elements.

Such scenes bring forth rollercoaster of emotions,
Reminiscent of the dark days of fascism,
Who can ever forget heartbreaking
Tragedies  like Sophie’s Choice resurrection?
Or , as it’s been now said that it’s
‘Simba moments’ of the lost children,
The condemned people of Afghanistan
In this god forsaken desolate land.

Vivid harrowing despatch of the news,
With rising sun comes another day
Of roasting heat and inflamed views,
Heartbreakingly plaintive voices plead
And the desperate in sewage and gravel wade,
As their tears fall and their hopes fade.

They are forgotten, the translators who Are tossed.
West’s withdrawal is fatally blotched.
Unpardonable act of moral bankruptcy,
We have allowed the guillotine to drop inexcusably.
Indelible stain will tarnish the West ‘s idiocy.

Heart wrenching to see the carnage
Playing out in front of our eyes.
Ever growing clamour up in the sky.
Jihadists have no rhyme or reason,
Pushing back their country to pre-medieval treason.
Afghanistan is beyond devastation,
The  shame falls upon us , the Western civilisation.

In the heat of the night of Kabul
No food, no water, no sleep either.
It’s a total calamity,
An apocalyptic failure.
