Analysis of The Tree or What’s Left Of It
I lived long and time had come to go
Then you came along, I now could live a little more
I tried to stand once again, strong and tall
With you I felt once again, young, alive, at a ball
You crossed my path several times
From dusk to dawn and even nights
Jogging, strolling, you stood under me to catch air
With you, I shared my freshness with tender care
At times when you were lonely, you just sat under me
Reading a book or shedding tears of misery
I wept and withered with you, my fallen leaves, providing a cushion too
At times you just drove past me, attending to your needs in town
I swayed for you, it was enough for me, to know your safe and around
But now, you are going on to newer paths
Hope they are more joyful and that it lasts
Hope you find your peace and happiness there
Hope it's better than what I could give you here
It is now thus time for me to go too
No reason to stand here without you
Tomorrow they come with axes and saw
Ripping my limbs, my breath shall withdraw
Pain, I always had before I knew thee
But contend with memories of you, is now me
So farewell my friend or whatever you are
If you ever remember this path with scars
There's now a small stump rotting black n blue
It’s dead, but shall stand there waiting for you
