Analysis of NIGHT FEEDERS
Phil Roberts 1957 (Melbourne)
Night feeders searching
For unwary travellers,
Feeding time is nigh.
Small and feathered
Like prehistoric reptiles,
Night Feeders eat anything.
Like tiny dinosaurs
Barely a metre high,
Night Feeders hunting.
Night Feeders ready
To run down human beings,
The favourite food.
Lonely people walk
Outside under dead of night,
As Night Feeders near.
Stalking through shadows
The Night Feeders smell humans,
Move in for the kill.
Shrieking like the sound
That death itself might make,
When eating human food.
Night Feeders devour
Every single morsel,
Of their living food.
Wild coyotes shrink
From the sight of feeders,
Retreating rapidly.
Bears run in terror
As Night Feeders approach,
Everything fears them.
Cats and dogs vanish
When Night Feeders are shrieking,
Like the sound of death.
Nothing dares to move
Or show itself outside with,
Night Feeders outside.
No-one dares to breathe
In case the Feeders overhear
Their exhalations.
Now it's a ghost town
No creature left their alive.
So Night Feeders move on.
