DREAMS DEFEAT THE AWFUL NIGHT

Dreams defeat the awful night
Where nothing decent can survive,
And surely nothing good can thrive
On this awful, horrid night!

Dreams allow a sweet escape
From horrors lurking close nearby,
From creeping things that haunt the night
A sweet and much-needed escape.

Dreams take you to another land
To escape the dreadful night landscape,
As night descends like an ebony drape
A cleaner, safer land.

Dreams provide hope for the lost
Taking them to a righteous place,
Away from truths they cannot face
Some small hope for the lost.

Dreams can be a sure way out
Of a dreadful life, you live alone,
From horrors, you meet on your own,
A clear and safe way out.

Dreams take care of many needs
Transport you to a sweeter land,
Where tyrants cannot give commands
Taking care of many, many needs.
