The cleverest of distractions

All the while dead things grow

Creep of power crawling low

I am coming for you breathing frost

Dark Age

12 years on and hating life
Painting sorrows with a knife
I wish I could say I believe
There’s a future to retrieve
But loss to loss day after day
Drains hope completely away
So don’t mind me as I disengage
I’m just entering my own dark...

I am on an island alone and free
Open ocean is all my eyes see
I am happy I believe
Or am I being deceived
I am on an island alone
Just me all unknown
No one will come to the rescue
And sometimes I have the best view
But my island does...

“I can end it for you”
The voice glided gently into my being
Seemingly un-originate and endless
I sensed it could’ve hit like a tidal wave
Obliterated my mind with raw power
Divine and ineffable light immolating me
Instead it soothingly...
