Paul W. B. Marsden

I was born in rural Cheshire, England in 1968 and I studied civil engineering at university. I worked in construction, banking, and telecommunications before being elected to parliament in 1997 for the Labour Party at the age of 29. After 9/11, I rebelled over the war in Afghanistan and left the party. I rebelled again over the war in Iraq and recrossed the House of Commons - the first time since Winston Churchill. After leaving parliament in 2005, I worked as a director of policy for an animal charity, worked in a missile factory that sent munitions to Ukraine and I am the Head of Quality for a £5 billion rail improvement project in the north west of England. I have written poetry, short stories, local history books and technical books. My latest book, Philosophers and the Meaning of Life is due out early 2024, published by Imprint Academic. I have just finished writing Entente Cordiale of 20 Great Writers in the 19th Century. I am a fan of Liverpool Football Club. I am married to Elena and we live in north Wales. We have three grown up children.
