Danny Gurnett

I'm from the South East of England. I started writing poetry in 2010 and after a couple of months, I developed a passion for writing. I find that there's three ingredients to a successful poem and they consist of rich imagery, deep emotion and a vast vocabulary. I try to incorporate all three within my work. I would say about 40% of my poems rhyme while the rest of my poetry is free verse, prose or slam poetry. I also love to include metaphors, alliteration and internal rhyme within my work. About 90% of my poetry is fictional and created by my crazy imagination, while the rest is based on me or something that's happened in my life.
