Leaf Of Life

Felled by breezes fleeing life
green a leaf wilts on the ground.
Its bright green, like human strife
slowly fades as it turns brown.

Stand serene like an old tower.
Life's to learn in contemplation
the true force in will and power,
and the virtue of moderation.

All which dwells in young and old
can be reached if one can dream.
Dream to reach, to touch, to unfold,
while the leaves of life are green

And as leaves of life do fall
to lie quietly on soft ground,
dreams I dream the spirit-call
green my leaf, as it turns brown.
