AGING - a note to my wife

Román Ortega-Cowan 1935 (Habana)

Our skin slowly wrinkling
our youths bidding goodbye
Though our rose of love remains
fresh and fragrant in our hearts

Tens of years of sharing ending
Who knows when or what will be
When the last word to be spoken
bids goodbye from you or me

Lives well lived, well shared
We will meet beyond the clouds
One fine day …… to start again?
As I love you beyond our deaths.
