Shine On

Shine on, my little star…
I spotted a star, my star,
Not too far away in the worldly galaxy
It's young, it's fiery, it's bright and it's mine.
It shines, it twinkles like all in the sky.
But it still is a star in its own right!
I wonder, why mine is not the brightest?
Why is mine is not like the ever-popular, smiling Sun?
Why don’t I sneak in some extra light?
Let it be even brighter than the Sun
Let everyone know thy name O son!
Let everyone know that you are the Superstar
Better than all the stars, mightier than the Sun even.
I nurtured this nebula and cleared all the dust!
Now that you are out in the worldly sky,
There will be times when you feel alone up there in the night.
And in the morning your light is overshadowed by the mighty Sun
At that time remember
Every star doesn’t have to be the Sun
You are still shining and you are still a star
You shine in your own little way
You might be the next in line to guide the others,
You might be that one star who completes a beautiful constellation,
You might be that one star that a little boy sees and smiles,
And you might be that one star who gives hope to someone in the dark night,
With your warm twinkling light.
For someone to believe that even if there is no Sun
At least you are there to give them your warm light and calming love.
I wish for you to be the best star of your kind, your own star, the loving star!
Shine on…my little star!
