Museic

Kennet Benoît-Hutchins 1952 (Snowdon, Montreal, QC)

for want of an Ear.

it is not the eye that sees
it is not the heart that feels
nor is it the brain that flies,
the soul rules all: so it heals.

it is with the eye to ever search
it is the heart that shares the need
nor does it matter how it does teach,
the soul has roots: for all to heed.

it is not only illumination
It is not solely rhythm
nor a sage’s want of language.
the soul hungers for its music.

for want of a beat, a sound giving breath to Hope. Life.
