You Don't Have To Be Happy

You don't have to be happy or know the reason why
You just have to drink, eat and breathe
Or pack it up and die

You don't have to be happy or sing a melody
You just have to drink, eat and breathe
Or conk in misery

You don't have to be happy or find pie in the sky
You just have to drink, eat and breathe
Or say your last good-bye

You don't have to be happy or dance a jig all day
You just have to drink, eat and breathe
Or slowly pass away

You don't have to be happy or win in every game
You just have to drink, eat and breathe
Or let grim reapers claim

You don't have to be happy or relish life's surprise
You just have to drink, eat and breathe
Or face your own demise.
