Winterquest Begins

It was Gawain, I'm sure;
Not the Green Knight complaining
Of mid-winter cribbage matches,
That changed the royal custom
Of winter frolic with icy maidens
To questing dragons full of fire.
A cold Camelot cannot continue,
He said to Arthur,liege and king
There's hoarfrost on all our maidens
Causing ice bite to our hands
While dragons foul and fiery
Fuel degrees of untold warmth
Upending English virgins.
So Arthur decreed the Anglo-Saxon
