Why I Write My Poems

If you're my only reader
I would write for you.
Unlike the bottom feeder
your feedback is cue.
I write for you and the few
who understand the things I do.

If everyone read my work
I would write alike.
Vagaries would be a perk
without a restrike.
I write for tall and the small
who understand the things I call.

If all efforts went unread
I would write for me.
Zero would be left unsaid
as self-therapy.
I write for me and the free
who understand the things I see.
