Who Will Slake The Hunger?

Who will rock the baby
when the nanny dies?
Who will soothe and comfort
when the baby cries?

Who will fetch the water
when the fountain dies?
Who will quench and moisten
when the water dries?

Who will slake the hunger
when the baker dies?
Who will feed and nourish
when the hunger vies?

Who will tend the garden
when the farmer dies?
Who will hose and sprinkle
when the garden fries?

Who will teach the doctrine
when the preacher dies?
Who will help and succor
when the doctrine lies?

Who will save the country
when the soldier dies?
Who will guard and defend
when the soldier sighs?
