When Shadows Play
When the sun rises slowly
and the darkness fades away
only then do I see you running
to dance, sing, and laugh
as the shadows play.
Only when the moon rises
and the clouds fade away
do I ever see you smiling
waiting for the time
to watch the shadows play.
As the cold wind blows
and the leaves dance and play
Only then do I see you
spinning in the moonlight
chasing the shadows away.
