Twice THROUGH THE FIRE

It came on slowly like a lioness waiting, in the tall grasses ,to strike.
When I knew for sure the end was coming I ran , not away but inside.
Not a pretty place inside your mind, when fear is swimming there, everywhere.
I called to my Savior, knowing He would pull me out, He was my strength, no doubts!
I battled and believed , and at last won out!
The fire was quenched, His light so bright , the desease was gone in just one night!

Three years have past, a bit scared, in the space reserved for old wounds.
But out of that place it attacked me again! Trying me and my Savior , to go once again!
I was prepared thanks to hands that healed, from earthly to Heavenly, I was on watch.
Now the lioness isn't hiding , she was discovered , seen in her grass , but I know she will
try if only to snag me in one swift pass.

Here we are again, my Savior and I ,with Faith I will battle , no way I can die!
Too much at stake for me and mine. I'll strike first ,my victory not once , but a second time.
Oh yes, it's there in that place where fear swims inside. But I won't hide from it , no, not like before! The fire won't burn as it tried to before, my Savior, His light brighter , much brighter , then the one before!
Cancer is the lion that comes once again , but I know God's light burns bright ,
The lion won't fight, it stands not a chance, in the face of God's light!
