Trust Issues

You never learned like you never heard.
Have you forgotten you were once burned?
You were taken down by your own words,
remembered by friends, your trust they earned.

You healed, yes, but you forgot the lessons.
You were spread by good stories, all fiction.
You were promoted by bullets in their guns
owned by those you called your trusted ones.

Now, your heart is opened wide again.
Treating everyone as if they're all friends.
Then another fellow betrays you again.
Now you say, you thought it would never happen.

Fix your trust issues but learn to remember the lessons.
Everything happens for some good certain reasons.
Friends are true at their own given season,
you'll see them when you're down and gone.
