The Last Petal of a Coral Rose

The caress of your soft lips and my skin calmly cohere
With a tease you gently whisper in my ear
Your words coerce a smile to mask this pulsing fear
Hiding nervous energy as I try to hold you dear

And much like a blind man lonesome in the brume
Are far too many reasons why I must presume
That the thoughts led by your conduct are surely true
How I'm the drop of water that you need only to bloom

But here we have this moment, and I'll stay all I can stay
With not the slightest regard for the pride I throw away
I understand that in the end my efforts have gone astray
So I'll use you like you've used me too,
And I'll be on my way
