The gift of children

The innocent face of a child sheds light upon my heart
When a baby's heart is beating strong the Lord has done his part
The sound of a child laughing is like music to my ears
For to hear a child crying brings out my innermost fears
The sound of a children singing makes me happy beyond compare
But to hear them weeping is something I cannot bare
The vision of a child sleeping upon his father's chest
Knowing that the child is safe enables my soul to rest
To see a child smiling is the greatest gift I know
But and even greater gift is watching the child grow
God must have known we needed children to Brighten up our day
He knew the gift of children would inspire us to pray
