sleepy eyed

As night slowly drifts in,
soft music plays to sooth your soul,
bittersweet thoughts of the day,
all worries gone, away they go.

I close my eyes to rest,
a sudden comfort overwhelms me,
thoughts of your arms wrapped,
holding me, I can't breathe.

Crisp breeze of the night,
cools the room to a crisp,
send heat to my heart,
seal it with a kiss.

Starlight shines down bright,
faint shadow of it's glow,
shines through my window,
little bit of light, is all that is shown.

When morning comes with daylight,
sun beams warm on my face,
I feel the emotions inside,
I couldn't be in a better place.

Holly Szurczynski

Alot of my poems are about my past, what I've been through or what I may be focusing on. One of my close friends inspired me to write. He said for as much as I told him, I should put into poems. I'm glad I did.I never realized how much I was keeping inside until I started writing, wow, so much comes out. more…
