Simple Sonnet

Upon first glance my heart desires
You said your greeting so polite
Lest you know my heart requires
Your affections and delights
The beauties you possess your mind eludes
How I wish to prove your virtues
Yet because of fate cannot choose
To make you mine despite my rues
If God be kind and bless me though
I should be happy as a lark
To have you mine and defeat thy foes
Escape this pain and brighten all dark
Yet as time flies so like the birds
My love doth solely live through thoughts and words
