A Craving

My mind beckons to places my heart does not follow.
Yet other times my issue is reverse.
But when they meet such union will borrow
Splendid resolutions of tales diverse.
Beowulf hailed and true love found,
Make Cinderella and the Geat the envy of all.
A wonderful high that hastily abounds,
Until sudden crash and brisk withdrawal.
So fleeting is this mental state,
That when gone I seek to renew.
Yet impossible it is to force my fate,
Using the vices of this world untrue.
Like a fiend I crave that blissful peace,
Produced by mind and heart united.
That I fear I will decease,
Before my lonesome state is righted.
