Pebbles

Pebbles in the babbling brook
whisper a constant tale.
The message is harmony
where gives and takes prevail.

Lessons learned in martial arts
say hold-on or let go.
Sometimes harness the forces,
other times overthrow.

The water flow smoothes roughness
with a persistent rush.
Eventually resistance
surrenders to the wash.

Persistence with endeavors
yields positive results.
Practice sharpens every skill
and achievement exalts.

Defending or allowing
is the predicament.
Consequences demonstrate
exercised discernment.
