Once a Mother

I was once a mother
But a mother I am no more.
If only I had another
Chance to walk out the door
Of that abortion hospital,
I would run for all I was worth.
My baby so young, helpless and little
I let them take from this earth.
Oh, terrible cruel pain I live with!
“Dear, God, forgive me please!”
His forgiveness is total and his peace is here with
Me as the terrible pain flees.
I will see my child in heaven,
This God mercifully guarantees.
