No Legal Definition Thereof!

Superimposed over my conscience,
lies the veneer of social constraint.
I temper will, in a restrictive sense,
to avoiding the hubris of complaint.

My interaction takes a color of lie,
'white lie' as convenience purports.
Honesty and truth suffer but do try,
to eke out an approximate support.

While love, oh dear, is distorted on,
it's altar of intention can be abused.
Ferried on the words of law perused,
a contract of Biblical pursuit is used.

I cannot constrain in chain thus love,
something of sacred dispute is gone.
Laws of man transmute what's above,
into devil's commerce with the known.

Speak not to me, in a same breath,
such matter's of heart take new lease.
Keep the divine above such breadth,
of that notion, passion's own release.

When I say, "I love you", take at face,
no entanglement of a subtle despair.
Beyond words of man, I seek a trace,
of heart's own language to be aware!

Tracy Bollinger

Always liked to write and have written poems periodically over the years. I've never shared them withanyone except for immediate family. Decided to take the plunge and put some out 'there'. But bearwith me, I don't really know what I'm doing. This is therapy of sorts and I hope to let go of the need to rhyme. It's a mental condition. I recently found out my grandmother used to rhyme all herletters to anyone. Go figure. I hope you all enjoy my ranting! I do like what I've seen other's post. more…
