No Feathered Saviour

The final moments of your car crash life,
I will be there with a smile on my face,
buckle up fear as I twist in the knife,
scream self-pity while I quickly embrace
all those moments that flash before your eyes,
the sighs, the truths, and especially the lies.

And there you were dreaming of Heaven's light,
are you shocked to find yourself here with me?
In Hell you can fan the flames of your plight,
I'll dangle the promise to set you free.

A dancer, lover, the thief of your soul,
you'll try to escape but you won't get far
for you are in the headlights of my goal,
look around, you'll find no feathered saviour,
tomorrow's arrived to claim the spirit,
submit, quit the struggle, give me credit.

Perhaps, after a thousand years of pain,
I may show mercy to that fickle mind,
but do not hold your breath, please don't complain
for you will find that I am not that kind.
