Night Retreat

The clear, blue day is all but said and done
With the descending of the brilliant, shining sun.
Gazing on beyond the long pastures and fields,
What mesmerizing colors this gentle exit reveals.
The mingled hue of color caresses the tall tree tops
And the light grows dim with this continual drop.
While the sun is bidding all a short-lived good-bye,
A full moon beam is beckoned to greet dark sky.
That first, shiny, bright star appears, bold and new,
Listening to whisper made wishes and dreams to come true.
One by one, numerous stars begin to follow suit,
Painting the dark sky with a profounding new look.
Bits and pieces of clouds can often be portrayed
By the dancing of the stars emitting their bright rays.
The slight change of breezes are a bit cool and crisp,
Refreshing the mind and soul, with all nature’s bliss.
A renewed peace and solace is deeply consumed within,
By a mystical night journey that few may have been.
